Stewart Milne Timber Systems volunteers on Kenyan housebuilding charity mission.

The development is led by The Grandhome Trust, a family-led entity that has held the land for more than 300 years. The new settlement will include up to 7,000 homes, retail centres, a business park, up to three primary schools and a health centre. Grandhome is part of the Scottish Government’s Scottish Sustainable Communities Initiative, which encourages new developments that are exemplars of sustainability and design. The move means the Isle of Man-based company has invested more than £100m in the north-east of Scotland since it entered the Scottish market in 2007. As well as being an easy drive from the city centre, commuters can also reach Dundee in under an hour-and-a-half via the A90 trunk road.Housebuilder Dandara has acquired land for almost 70 homes at Grandhome, the new community being developed at Bridge of Don in Aberdeen. Where to start with Aberdeen? You can look forward to intricate architecture, a refreshingly bohemian eating out scene and a craft beer movement inspired by the world-famous BrewDog brewery nearby. Parents can look forward to a straightforward school run - Forehill and Danestone primary schools are both within a 15 minute walk. And when the kids are a bit older, you won’t have to venture much further, with secondary Middleton Park School around the same distance. On top of that, the ASDA Middleton Park Superstore will be perfect for your weekly shop, with the McColl’s convenience store also close by. Imagine a stylish collection of homes, just a short drive from a fascinating city centre offering culture aplenty and a great night out, but surrounded by an oasis of green space plus supermarkets, shops, pubs and schools. Grandhome is an inspiring development that offers a tranquil way of life, but with the excitement of the city centre just moments away.
